For the works in Heavy Handed, I used a range of mediums, both digital and analog, to explore our engagement with mass media and popular culture. I am particularly interested in representation of women in media and censorship resistance.

By appropriating and recontextualizing mainstream imagery and advertising, these works offer a distressing and comical look at underlying themes present in celebrated American pastimes.
